1. Who we are
Pegmar Limited (Company No. 04493185), trading as St Anne's Nursing Home, 1-3 Lawn Road, Portswood, Southampton SO17 2EX, is the data controller for personal information collected through this website, www.stannesnursing.co.uk. 2. What this notice covers
This notice explains, in plain English, what information we collect about you when you visit or contact us through this website, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and your rights. Separate privacy notices cover Residents and their families, our staff, and job applicants; you can ask us for a copy of any of them.
3. Information we collect through the website
Enquiries and messages. When you use the contact form, request a brochure, or email or telephone us using the details on the site, we collect the details you give us. That is usually your name, how to reach you, and whatever you tell us in your message. Enquiries about care for a relative or friend sometimes include information about that person's health or care needs; please share only what is needed for us to respond.
Technical information. Like almost every website, ours automatically receives some technical data when you visit, such as your device type, browser, IP address and the pages you view. Our website is built and hosted on the Wix platform, which collects this information to make the site work, keep it secure and show us how the site is used. See section 4 on cookies.
Social media and the blog. Our site links to our Facebook and Instagram pages and to external sites such as the Care Quality Commission. If you follow a link, interact with our social media pages, or comment there, the privacy notice of that platform applies as well as, or instead of, this one. We do not control those platforms and are not responsible for their content, so please review their privacy information before submitting personal data to them.
4. Cookies
Cookies are small files placed on your device when you visit a website. Our site uses three kinds: essential cookies, which make the site work and keep it secure and are always on; analytics and performance cookies, which help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it; and functionality cookies, which remember choices you make. We do not use advertising or targeting cookies.
Non-essential cookies are set only with your consent. When you first visit, the cookie banner lets you accept all, reject all, or choose; the cookie settings panel on the site lists each cookie, what it does and how long it lasts, and you can change your choice at any time. 5. Why we use your information, and our lawful basis
To respond to your enquiry, arrange a visit or send you a brochure: our legitimate interest in responding to the people who contact us, and, where you go on to arrange care, taking steps before entering into a contract.
Where an enquiry includes health information about a prospective Resident: we process it for the purpose of assessing and arranging health and social care, under the safeguards that apply to health and care providers, and we treat it as confidential.
To run, secure and improve the website: our legitimate interest in operating a safe and effective website, and your consent for any non-essential cookies.
We do not use your information for automated decision making, we do not sell it, and we do not send marketing unless you have asked us to.
6. Who we share your information with
The people who work for us see enquiry information only where they need it to respond to you. Our website is hosted by Wix.com Ltd, which processes technical data on our behalf as a data processor. We may also use IT and email providers to store and handle messages. We share information beyond that only where the law requires or allows it, for example with regulators, or where it is needed to arrange care that you have asked about. If our business were ever sold or reorganised, information could be shared with the buyer under confidentiality obligations, and we would tell you.
7. International transfers
Wix and some IT providers store information on servers outside the UK. Where that happens, the transfer is protected by UK adequacy regulations or by contract terms approved for international transfers under UK GDPR.
8. How we keep your information safe
The website platform protects information in transit and at rest with recognised security technology, and access to enquiry information within the home is limited to the people who need it. No internet transmission is completely secure, so anything you choose to send is at your own risk until it reaches us; if you prefer, telephone us instead.
9. How long we keep your information
We keep website enquiries for up to 12 months after our last contact with you, then delete them, unless the enquiry leads to a placement or employment, in which case the information becomes part of the relevant record and the retention periods in our other privacy notices apply. Technical data collected by the website platform is kept in line with the platform's retention periods.
10. Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have inaccurate information corrected, to ask us to delete information we no longer need, to object to or ask us to restrict processing, to receive information you gave us in a portable electronic form where we process it by automated means under consent or a contract, and to withdraw consent at any time where consent is our basis, including for cookies. 11. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first and we will try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF, telephone 0303 123 1113, or through ico.org.uk.
12. Changes to this notice
We review this notice at least once a year and whenever the website or the law changes. The date of the current version is shown on the website alongside this notice.
